Omaha Softball Finishes Weekend 3-2

The Omaha Softball team finished their weekend 3-2 at the Red Desert Classic in St. George, Utah.

The Mavericks collected wins over Weber State, Utah Valley and Idaho State, including two wins via shutout.

Dana Elsasser (Senior, Hershey, Neb.) picked up all three wins in the circle for the Mavericks, throwing 21 innings and only giving up three earned runs.  Elsasser also struck out 21 and allowed only one extra-base hit on the weekend.

The Mavericks were led offensively by Campbell Ditto (Sophomore, Wamego, Kan.), who hit three homers, one double and drove in five runs.  Allie Mathewson (Junior, Papillion, Neb.) collected six hits and drew five walks in 19 plate appearances on the weekend.

The Mavericks return to action this weekend as they travel to Auburn, Ala. for the Tiger Invitational.  Omaha plays two games on Friday (Winthrop & Loyola (Ill.)), two games on Saturday (Marshall & Auburn) and one game on Sunday (Western Illinois).
