Rob Little + The Funny Bone = A Great Night

On June 5th of 2016, standup comedian, Rob Little, took the Funny Bone stage to give Omaha a fresh dose of comedy. Rob has been living his dream of being a stand-up comedian since 1998 after leaving his job as a computer programmer. His years of experience show in his performance as he weaves an intricate set of improvisational and observational humor. Rob doesn’t often dip into shades of blue, black or cringe comedy because, frankly, he just doesn’t need to. Throughout the night it became evident that the audience was a key player in the show as Rob’s improvisational side took over. He asked the audience questions and rolled off of their answers as he had fun with nurses, teachers and ladies with glasses. The energy pouring from Rob was directed toward the audience and the audience was throwing energy right back until the set became less of a pre-determined script and more of a conversation. In his career, Rob has produced three comedy specials based on his stand-up and tours the United States often, which keeps his wit sharp and his energy high.

Before comedy, Rob worked at IBM in Detroit as a computer programmer but ultimately left due to an all-company email that he sent worldwide which read, “If you aren’t happy here, quit your job and follow your dream.” His positive outlook on life is apparent as he grins from ear to ear while taking the stage. Rob is living his dream and has obviously found his happy place in making people laugh.

In a business where you are constantly compared to someone else, Rob has found his own style and falls into it completely. Though Rob is a big fan of comedy, he was found his own unique approach that he is comfortable with and must be experienced, as explaining it with words wouldn’t do it justice.

When he comes back around to Omaha in a year, you can bet that I will be in the audience again to see what he will cook up next. Will you?
