MAHA Day 1

Food, fun and music. That’s the atmosphere here at Maha’s 10th annual festival tucked inside Aksarben Village. Tents of various organizations, food trucks, yard games, and even a ferris wheel are some of the attractions you’ll find at Maha this weekend. Best of all is the massive number of bands from around the country that have turned this event into a two-day festival for the first time ever. These bands include Benjamin Booker, ZZ Ward and TV on the Radio, all with their own unique flavors of music.

ZZ Ward was one of the night’s biggest highlights, as well as one of the most anticipated. Zsuzsanna Eva “ZZ” Ward was an amazing vocalist who actually swallowed a bug during her performance. But despite this catastrophe, she didn’t let it “bug her”. She engaged the crowd with humor and high energy, encouraging participation during her entire performance. MavRadio staff spent most of the daytime touring around the tents, talking with the vendors, interviewing concert-goers, snapping photos and updating social media. As the night went on, the crowds continued to grow, creating a lively atmosphere.

MavRadio will be covering Day 2 of Maha tomorrow, starting at 4pm.
