UNO’s Center Dome collapses

Omaha, Neb.- It’s unclear if the February blizzard that dumped almost 10 inches of snow on the Omaha metro Saturday played a role in the collapse of the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Center Dome, 6806 Spring St over night. The 43-thousand square feet of field turf serves as practice facilities for Maverick baseball, soccer and other various community events. University Communication Associate Director, Editorial and Media Relations, Sam Petto said since the facilities were closed, no one was inside at the time of collapse. Right now, there is not a determination of what caused the dome to fall, and Petto said UNO facilities will explore the next step Monday.
