MavRadio.FM rocks through World College Radio Day 2021

There’s not a team more excited about our worldwide broadcast than Social Media and Marketing staff members Pauline Dulang and Stephanie Veloso. Their show focused on World College Radio Day 2021 and today’s hottest music trends.

(Omaha, NEB.)- An all-start line-up lead the 24-hour World College Day broadcast on MavRadio.FM. Special guests included: ESPN’s Mike Rooney, KC Royals Nick Pratto, artist Derrick Higgins, and Omaha Westside football player Erin Mardi.

More than 600 participating college radio stations around the globe shared the day dedicated to local and worldwide programming. MavRadio.FM General Manager Ana Bellinghausen said it serves as a chance to showcase the staff’s talent. “We put in a lot of long hours editing and shooting video and audio, and it just pays off on College Radio Day,” she said. MavRadio.FM staff share their passion for college radio and what UNO’s School of Communication opportunities have done for them.

Five-time Grammy Award winner “Weird Al” Yankovic served as this year’s official ambassador as WCRD expanded its reach to 40 countries. In its 11th year, the non-profit organization, dedicated to uniting and strengthening the power of college radio, shared the common theme “In Tough Times, We Thrive.”

Omaha’s #1 rated KAT 103.7’s Hoss Michaels and Gina Melton recognize the power of World College Radio Day.
