OMAHA, Neb.-  More than 600 local gamers made the trek to one of the Heartlands most popular gaming events, NETWAR. An annual 26-hour charity gaming even which hosts video game enthusiasts from all over the Midwest. The entire organization and event are non-profit and the cash earned goes directly to local and national charities.

The main events of NETWAR include tournaments of various competitive multiplayer games, where competitors can earn trophies and prizes in winning such events, but even if you don’t want to compete for the glory of winning these competitions, gamers can simply enjoy playing their favorite games with their friends, or complete strangers in a bonding experience shared and enjoyed by all. 

According to NETWAR’s website the event is supporting Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital located in Omaha, Nebraska. Alongside Gamer’s Outreach the event will help furnish “GO Karts”, which are portable, medical grade gaming kiosks that children in hospitals who cannot leave their rooms can enjoy. NETWAR says that alongside local Twitch partner, oISketcHIo, they have been able to provide Omaha Children’s Hospital & Medical Center have been able to provide eight GO Karts for hospital residents. So far, the organization has raised $106,791 for charity. People interested in donating can go to www.netwar.org to provide any amount of support.
